What is Sermorelin?

Sermorelin was the first GHRH analog approved by the FDA (formerly marketed as Geref) for diagnostic evaluation of pituitary somatotropic function and treatment of pediatric growth hormone deficiency. Because it stimulates endogenous synthesis via the native negative-feedback loop (somatostatin regulation), it avoids tachyphylaxis and excessive supraphysiological GH peaks.

Biological Mechanism

Selectively binds pituitary GHRH receptors on somatotroph cells, activating adenylate cyclase and cAMP second-messenger pathways to stimulate endogenous GH transcription and pulsatile exocytosis.
