What is AOD-9604?

AOD-9604 (Advanced Obesity Drug 9604) was developed to isolate the fat-burning (lipolytic) properties of endogenous human growth hormone from its somatogenic, diabetogenic, and proliferative actions. By cyclizing the 177-191 sequence with an added tyrosine residue at the N-terminus, it stabilizes the conformation required for beta-3 adrenergic and lipolytic pathway activation without binding the primary growth hormone receptor.

Biological Mechanism

Upregulates beta-3 adrenergic receptor signaling and hormone-sensitive lipase (HSL) in adipocytes, stimulating lipolysis and inhibiting lipogenesis without affecting circulating IGF-1, insulin sensitivity, or glucose homeostasis.
